This is a long standing traditional event thanks to Andy Nielsen! Enjoy a beautiful summer day paddling, splashing, tipping over on a canoe down the amazing Russian River. Then when it's all said and done retreat to Andy and Aase's house for a delectable BBQ and entertainment.

Find your canoe partner and mark this day on your calendar.

NO kids under 6.

9:30am meet at the park and ride parking lot off of 101 and the Healdsburg exit. Everyone will then get on a bus that will take you to the canoes and the starting point of the journey. The canoe part can take as long or as short as you make it and there are buses that run people back to their cars in the park and ride lot. From there people drive a little further to The BBQ.

BBQ only: 5p.m. Meet at 10781 Hillview Rd. in Windsor. Take 101 to the Arata lane exit from the south. (Exit 499 off 101 from the north, then Old Redwood Hwy to Arata) After 1/2 mile, turn left onto Hillview Road. If you get lost, you can call (707) 838 6538 .

Reservations: Reservations are required for this event. Email Jennifer by Thursday July 12th at noon. If you have room in your car please post on facebook or here on our website.

This event costs $40 per person, including dinner at Andy's. Children six and over are welcome, and are discounted when paddling with two adults. Andy collects the cash at the Canoe trip parking lot before getting your canoe.

Those only joining the BBQ pay $10.
Payment is collected on site that morning. Cash ONLY.

Indicate the number of adults and children in your party. Also specify whether you will attend the canoe trip, BBQ, or both.

What to Bring: Sunscreen, cooler with food and drink that stays shut in case your canoe tips, towels in a stay dry bag, change of clothes and cash to pay. Bring your water guns to keep the river raiders at bay, coolers with refreshing beverages, lunch, sunscreen, water and a change of clothes for the BBQ. Shoes or sandals are needed while on the river. You are certain to get wet from head to toe. Bring a length of rope to lash your cooler to your canoe. Multiple zip-loc bags are handy for car keys.

Directions: From San Francisco cross the Golden Gate Bridge and drive North on Hwy 101through Santa Rosa and Windsor. Take the Healdsburg Exit.
