This is the longest standing tradition for Clear Lake summer weekends for Young Scandinavian Club, where we celebrate the summer solstice as our generations before us. This tradition-heavy holiday rivals Christmas in Scandinavia, so you know it’s an event no Viking would miss!

Of course, our days will be spent on our deck basking in the sun and various water activities in the lake while catching up with fellow YSC members (bring sunscreen!) However, a few activities will be added to the usual schedule.

We will make flower crowns in the late afternoon before we dance around the traditional maypole to old folk songs. Special additions to the evening include a customary happy hour of herring and smoked salmon as the sun goes down. Dinner with classic köttbullar and smorgasbord fare will be provided, and dancing under the stars to some Euro beats for that extra dose of authentic Skandinavisk sommarfest!

Ticket price includes meals Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and Sunday breakfast and leftover lunch.

This event is open to YSC members and their guests only 4 guests per member for this party.

What to Bring: You’ll need a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, swimsuit, sunscreen. Evenings are occasionally cool, so be prepared. Mattresses are provided. Sleep under the stars, or bring a small tent (tent space is limited). Check out the Clear Lake page for more details.

CLEAR LAKE DOCK RENOVATION PROJECT
We are also graciously requesting any donations to the Clear Lake Dock Renovation Project. After a very successful section new build and replacement this spring, we are hoping to raise enough funds to replace the remaining dock sections.

Any amount will bring us one cent closer to achieving a much needed facelift for everyone to enjoy a more comfortable, modern cooking experience at our Clear Lake Cabin.
