Bring your bicycle to Clear Lake, and let’s join Lakeport Rotary Club’s 28’th annual bike challenge on Saturday Oct-6. There’s room for everybody; 20, 40, 65 and 100-mile courses. The 20 and 40-mile courses are supposedly on flat terrain with great vista points.
This year, Susan & Mogens Lauritzen will once again host the Konocti Bike Weekend. Clear Lake in October is an outrageously beautiful place. It's harvest time, temperatures have cooled a bit, and the scenery is fantastic. Last year we were able to swim in the lake without algae, and it was still warm!
Bring your bike along to participate in Lakeport Rotary Club’s 27’th annual bike challenge. There’s room for everybody; 20, 40, 65 and 100-mile courses. You have all day to complete the 20 mile course which takes you through the pastures of Scott Valley. Adding another 20 will make you enjoy the pear countryside of Kelseyville. And, for the very fit, there's also the 65 & 100 mile race. Along the race course you'll find well stocked pit stops every 10-20 miles, each sporting a different fun theme. Saturday's continental breakfast, pit-stop snacks, and a post-race BBQ with music is included in the bike registration.
Did you know that Clear Lake used to be "pear country"? In fact, there are still many pear orchards left. On our return trip from Lakeport, we'll stop at a local pear farm and stock up with local produce for our Sunday Brunch and for you to take home!
NOTE; to participate you MUST register with 1) YSC and 2) Konocti Challenge: http://www.konoctichallenge.
Even if you do not want to go on the bike ride, you should still consider joining us at the cabin. The Sunboat will be available for use, and with a bit of luck, you might spot the two river otters - again! They swam by our cabin last year and was playing for a while around the docks.
Hope to see you at the start line in Lakeport, Skaal - Susan & Mogens
NOTE: This is an ala carte weekend.
