Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of up to eleven positions with a minimum of nine. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the YSC, it also works to develop a vision for the club that reflects current membership needs and keeps the club alive, healthy, relevant and Scandinavian.

The YSC is always in need of talented, motivated members to serve on the board and/or the various committees. Annual elections take place at the beginning of each year. You can see the board in action by reviewing our Financials & Annual Meetings page.

Lala Flink

Vice President

Born and raised in Germany with Scandinavian roots tracing back to Oskarshamn, Sweden, Lala moved to San Francisco in 2013. Shortly after arriving, she attended her first YSC event at Clear Lake and quickly became involved with the club, helping coordinate events as early as 2014. Lala joined the Board in 2021 and today serves as Vice President and Event Director, where she enjoys bringing people together through Clear Lake events, happy hours, or other fun events. Lala studied at San Francisco State University and now works as a consultant focused on zero-emission technologies for public transit. Over the years, YSC has become a big part of her life and the source of many of her closest friendships and favorite memories. She looks forward to keeping that spirit going and making YSC a fun and welcoming community for both new and longtime members.

Dave Conroy

Clear Lake Cabin Master

Dave was born in London in 1963, two days before the Kennedy assassination, but he doesn't think it was his fault. In January of 1987 he arrived in California, en route to Australia, and if he and the crew ever finish fixing up the Clear Lake cabin he has every intention of completing the journey. Along the way he married a lovely woman with a Norwegian grandmother and has been volunteering ever since.

Jesper Lundbaek

Tahoe Cabin Master

Jesper Lundbaek was born into the YSC. His Father Borge and Mother Inger immigrated from Denmark in 1964 to the bay area. They immediately found a vibrant and active Scandinavian community of which they became a part of. Jesper was affectionately referred to as the "1st child of Clear Lake" since his parents and their friends were steady fixtures there in activities and the transformation to the property we enjoy today. As a board member for several years from the 90's into the 2000's, Jesper has had experience running the YSC, problem solving, and helping make decisions that benefit the club and its members. His latest activity with the club has been as the Tahoe Cabin Reservation Master since 2006.
