Valborg – YSC Spring Bonfire at Ocean Beach – Friday, April 25th
Join Young Scandinavians Club for one of our most beloved traditions—Valborg, a spring bonfire celebration at Ocean Beach, hosted by long-time club member Stein Petersen.
When: Friday, April 25, 2025 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Where: Ocean Beach Fire Pits (Across from Beach Chalet, Stairwell 17)
As we welcome the arrival of spring, we’ll gather around the fire to enjoy good company, music, and the warmth of the flames against the Pacific breeze. Bring your favorite drink and snacks to share, but remember—no glass bottles or open containers on the beach. Be sure to dress warmly and in layers, as the temperature drops after sunset.
What to Bring:
- Your favorite drink (plastic cups/containers only, no glass)
- Snacks for yourself or to share
- A beach blanket or chair
- Extra firewood
- A musical instrument or your singing voice
- Warm clothes and layers
We’ll be at the stationary bonfire pits north of Beach Chalet. Look for the Danish Dannebrog flag as a marker. You can unload at the Ocean Beach parking lot, then park along Lincoln or Fulton and walk down.
Fires must be extinguished by 9:30 PM, and please take all trash with you to help keep the beach clean.
